Probably the same projectile manufacturer that was used in Oswald’s rounds. Magic bullets…in my best Forrest Gump voice.

It was a flat panel monitor made of plastic, glass, and either aluminum or really thin steel. There wasn't much distance between the rifle and the monitor so the bullet wouldn't have had much time to lose velocity (power). And much less distance between the monitor and the target so deflection, if any, would have had only a small effect on the point of impact. And we don't know how large the target area actually was. It's not like he was trying to make a 100 meter shot through an engine block.

Why the hell would there be computer monitors out where you are hunting? Are they office deer?

Well I'm saying the shooter planned for the shot to go through the monitor. No way it was an accident.
Absolutely. It was in his way and right in front of the guy. Not a terribly difficult shot to make with a rifle.
"Due to the suspect's limited exposure, the sniper took a planned and deliberate shot through a computer monitor, striking the suspect in the center of the forehead, killing him instantly," Lt. Todd Olmer of the Lee County Sheriff's Office explained. He added, "Firing through barriers is a trained and routinely practiced skill by the Lee County Sheriff's Office special operations unit snipers. The .308 caliber bullet used is specifically selected due to its known ballistic reliability traveling through intermediate barriers."
I'd venture to say they aren't using any special bullets. Any 308 round is going to pass through a thin monitor like a hot knife through butter.

If anything he would just have to adjust his aim as his rifle is likely zero'd at 100y, but still not a tough shot. Plus, they absolutely practice engaging targets that close.
