    I saw an episode on Storage Wars where they found an old 4 barrel pepper box. They kept that. Another one where they found an insane collection of crazy flare guns, they kept those too. None of these items were "illegal" though, but if I remember correctly, the show is in California, so I don't know how they were allowed to keep these items.

    Flare guns are non-firearms and any firearm "that does not fire fixed ammunition" is not regulated by the federal govt. Even cartridge guns made before the end of 1898 are exempt from most regs.
