target idea

So in my search for an affordable lasting target i had an idea. Any one used stall mats layered as a target? Im thinking 2x2 which gives me 6 layers of mat followed by two 1/2 layers of ply. Thoughts?

My wife had a fit when I tried to get the stall mats out of the bed of her horse trailer. I've found that old conveyor belting (found in an old abandoned gravel pit) works well.

At the Blue Ridge Mountain 3 Gun, that's just what they use as bullet stops behind targets set on stone walls in stage run in an actual underground cave. Worked great.

Im working on a 3'x3' with stacked carpet strips 12" deep. Just got to compress them tight.
