Anyone here have a .22lr conversion for the AR.
    I've heard mixed reviews.

It is either that or tech-sights for the 10/22 ruger (TSR200)
    http://www.tech-sights.com/

They also make them for the SKS (TS100 & TS200)

The techsights would be cheaper and less prone to failure. I've seen good reviews on their products.

I want to shoot .22lr for price.
I want to practice with the ghost ring sights like the Garand, Carbine, M14 & AR. A 22lr converion puts me on the AR ergonimcs but may have more problems, cost being one possibly.
I have another .22 that I'll probably scope as it has the least favorite iron sights for me. I like shooting irons sights. The 10/22 I have isn't mine so I'll end up having to get the 10/22 at some point. The techsights would be straight forward.

Mine is a Ciener kit, i got it from http://www.ballisticsounds.com/
they also sell the black dog machine mags which are great. The only thing that i did was take a dremel and buff the action of the 22 kit so that the moving parts were all smooth. Other than that its all about the ammo, mine likes the CCI Mini-Mags but, every rifle won't be the same, just make sure you get good mags, like i said BDM makes a real good mag that a bunch of the .22 kit shooters sware by. Hope this helps, it made me into a believer.

    IonicDog,
Thanks for the info. Ammo seems to be a sore spot for .22 across the board. I don't remember the failure to feed, fire or anything else in the old days like I see now. I ran across a lot of bad reports on the ceiner, which are probably myths. Some of the complaints are speculative, the poster doesn't own one & is guess at what might happen.
I'm going to try the techsights first. Among the factors are what is in & out of stock.
I'll probably do the Ceiner kit later.
    Thanks,
    RDO

oknigi - OK now I get it - I see how it works
I don't alway remember TLAs or abbreviations so texting would kill me.

I'm probably going to do a .22LR AR down the road.
I was making out the christmas list & thought The conversion may be better than a techsight. The main purpose is to practice that sight not the platform. Plus I like to know what I'm getting into on somethings. For an AR training gun it seems like it would be pretty cool.
