I spent the afternoon there today. It was pretty full but people were contantly leaving so the wait was less then 5 minutes. The Range is run very safely and the volunteers were very nice. Some people bring small wagons to carry their gear. For $6 all day you can't go wrong.

Don't forget to get a hunting/fishing license or Wild LA Stamp if you don't have one. You can buy online and print out a temp.

Honey Island is great! Just listen to the range officers and shoot safe. They are very nice guys but take safety seriously. Oh and have all your guns unloaded and with chambers open when you get there.

The walk isn't too bad. If you are bringing multiple rifles and tons of ammo, I'd bring a small dolly/luggage roller type thing.

A note about the WMA stamp, fishing/hunting liscence. The guys at HI will never ask to see your stamp/liscence, but if you encounter a wildlife & fisheries LEO on the WMA road to the range , they will definately ask to see it.

Have fun out there. Everything already said. They have targets for sale, but you can bring your own cheaper. They have the target stands and staplers. The steel plate targets are my favorite though.

FYI all the shooting benches are covered, rain is only an issue while wlking in and setting up targets
