This happened at 1:15 pm on Friday. Headed back to the office after grabbing lunch when some idiot democrat pulled out without even looking.

RIP Suburban. She has been very good to me and my family since 2004 and will be greatly missed.

This was the first time I’ve ever been in an accident where airbags deployed. It was a bit unnerving, but I was unharmed, thank God.

nothing worse than totaling out a older paid for used vehicle that has tons of life left in it cause you maintained it well and then the ins only giving you $3000 for it, cant never find a replacment for what the ins gives you for it... Glad you made it out alright

Good that everyone's ok. Suburbans make for good protection in a wreck. I was in a head on collision with a speeding drunk driver in a blind curve. Front end destroyed but no injuries.

I would claim injury in order to put pressure on the other insurance company to pay out. Otherwise, they might not pay you at all.

Oh man, glad you’re ok but sorry for your loss. My ‘94 3500 crew cab is irreplaceable and as dependable and solid as they come. I would cry my eyes out if I lost it. Hope you get in something comparable or that will at least be a consolation.

Looks like your car was well maintained.... Sucks to lose that car, they last forever (drivetrain) everything else will go bad (AC, window motors etc) but it'll drive forever. Plus with the market the way it is, there's a shortage on cars, causing used cars to go up in value.

    Glad you're ok.

First off glad your ok. I deal with low balling insurance claims daily. From the looks of your suburban it is in great shape. You do not have to take the offers they give you. You have the right to hire an independent appraiser. I have info on one I use all the time if needed just message me if you need it.

Thanks. And yes, it was extremely well maintained. My father bought it brand new in 2004 and I just recently bought it from him in October of 2019. She only had 130k miles on her. She had so much more life left in her...

She was in excellent shape for her age.
I appreciate the info, I'll keep that in mind for sure.

Glad you’re okay. Unfortunately, right now is THE worst time to be shopping for a used vehicle.

Been at it for a week now and you’re right, this is a terrible time to be looking! Slim Pickens and what is available all seem to be priced high. I’ll keep looking. The other driver’s (she was at fault) insurance is paying for my rental until May 5th, at least. Even getting a rental was an issue. There were no decent trucks or large SUVs available at all. After 3 days of waiting I took the first small SUV that became available.

I am glad to hear that her insurance company is decent enough to provide a rental. Be sure to research what it would really take to replace your vehicle and be ready to provide proof of it. I had to do that years ago when my Jeep was stolen in New Orleans( never recovered.)
