Congrats bud! I will be in Ingram, Tx, over thanksgiving for the annual hunt.

Jack- I could be totally wrong here but that looks a lot like west Texas Whitetail bucks or possible south Texas.

Thanks for the kind words. I was hunting in Doss,TX, Mason County, at Panther Creek Ranch. About 1 1/2 hrs west of Austin.

I was using Alanta Arms 125gr pink tip ammo with a 100yd zero. The hill in the background is where I shot from. I also got the doe he was chasing at 250yds. The guides were impressed that the Blackout round would go the distance out of a 9" barrel.

I harvested a Red Stagg cow at 500yds with the guide's rifle 6.5x284. It was a blast.

I figured you were in that area by looking at the kill. I hunt south of there.

Purple pin is Doss and I am near Ingram.

How about a review on the guides? Looks like a good time.

I use Headhunters Hunt Texas with Clint Tuma.
He is known around the world. He is a guide and exotic game dealer, he is also licensed to capture almost all species of game.
I plan on booking a trip with him to Alaska next year.

We have been using him for the last 4 years I believe it has been. Never disappointed.

*don't mean to interject in your thread Cajun, just answering the question. :)

Here is the website but it doesn't really do it justice.

No sweat. Might have to look them up for a future hunt.

The guides on the ranch I hunted are locals and help the ranch owner over the season as needed. They are both in the deer breeding and selling business. Panther creek has a website if you would like to check it out. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done.

I figured that too, but damn, west texas is a pretty big area. Cajun, congratulations on the great buck.
