The White House has released a photo of President Obama skeet shooting on his last birthday at Camp David.

    http://www.flickr.com/photos/whitehouse/8436110735/in/photostream

A couple of things to note:

    1. He is shooting left-handed. He also writes left-handed, so this isn't unexpected. (Lots of joke material here)
    2. The shotgun appears to be a Browning Citori, possibly a 525 or 625. It looks ALMOST identical to my 525 Sporting.
    3. He is missing the choke from the lower barrel. If he is shooting real skeet, he will be missing most of his second shots.
    4. His stance is typical of someone who doesn't shoot a lot of shotgun. He is leaning back a bit, certainly not into it.

I would think he wouldn't have to worry about gun control too much. At least for the next 4 years, he can probably shoot whatever he wants.

Add to this suspicious picture a warning from the White House handlers that this picture is not to be manipulated or used for any commercial purpose because all of obama's pictures are now copyrighted! Yeah, right....

Ok..I understand that the barrel is ported...by why is it that there's only smoke coming out of the ports on the right-hand side of the gun and not the left?

And what's up with the thin line that runs along the top and the bottom of the barrel and why do the bottom edges of the foregrip appear ragged?

And why is everything else in the photo blurry but him?

Not sure if you are being serious, but this image was taken with a professional Canon 5D full frame digital camera using a telephoto zoom lens at a wide aperture (was shot with the 70-200mm 2.8L IS II at f/4). It's normal for everything but the subject to be out of focus (blurry).

It's also normal when dealing with smoke that some angles of the smoke will appear in the photograph and other bits of smoke will appear invisible.

It was a serious question as I don't know a darn thing about photography....:o

If the questions came across as being "tin-foilish" it was not my intention...

It is most likely a flush choke.

Maybe, but not likely. The Invector chokes that come with the Citori are not flush. The top barrel has one. They have the gold ring at the end and a knurled ring behind that so they can be installed or removed without a choke wrench. If he had one, where are the rest?
