Tickfaw is a very nice place. Is the primative campground re-opened yet? We went weekend before thanksgiving and it was still in really bad shape from the hurricanes. It is defiantely one of the most kid friendly places around.

My daughter has never been camping so the wife and I want to take her to Ticfaw. Since we are new to the area we were wondering if there is anywhere that you can rent a pop up or a small travel trailer.

We use reserveamerica.com to book campgrounds, Tickfaw fills up pretty quick. We have also been to Fausse Point, Sam Houston Jones and Bayou Segnette.

Sounds like some of us need to make a group campout and clear some logs in the river... My chainsaw isn't scared of water :D

There are a few palces around here, you might have to dig a bit for one....

Most places only rent campers....class c or class A....there is a place on choctaw past flannery on the right.

My sister and I were just talking yesterday about taking her kids to Tickfaw, we heard they are leashed dog friendly which is a plus for us. How is it in regards to handicapped accessibility?

watch the time of year you go.

We went there one weekend and couldn't set foot outside for the clouds of mosquitos!

But is has to be one of the prettiest campgrounds the state has!

Mosquitos are thick there. Take some tiki torches and listerine. Spray the generic listering from a squirt bottle all over your site, it does help with the skeeters.
A box fan is really the best thing to have for skeeter control though.
