Perhaps the guru's here could lend me a hand.

One of the AR's is an Olympic Arms K16-Image posted for Visual Reference.

As you can see, it came with the big, ugly, A2 "trapdoor" stock.

I purchased an ATI "strikeforce" adjustable stock with a new grip in order to jazz it up a bit.

Install of the pistol grip went fine.

Purchased a Milspec buffer tube / carbine buffer, spring, castle nut, etc. for installation.

For some reason, I'm having difficulty getting that stock portion onto the tube. It just will not slide - as if the milspec tube is too wide? (and they're smaller than commercials!)
I am pulling down on the adjustment latch as per the directions.
It DOES lock into place at the notches, but requires some serious pushing/pulling to get the stock to collapse or extend.
For now, I've left it in place at a comfortable length of pull --- but I'm curious to see if anyone else has had this issue, or am I leaving something out?

    Thanks in advance.

"This stock will accept commercial and military buffer tubes"

Warning sign #1, I've never seen a stock that fits both sizes, because they shouldn't. Something's gotta give.

I had trouble with one of my AR's.....the final fix was to replace the buffer tube. The tube I trashed was ATI. The problem was actually internal. The issue was that there was too much material on the inside of the tube, resulting in the buffer spring being too long, thereby compressed too much and causing all sorts of issues with the basic operation of the rifle.

No more ATI stuff for me.
