I’m running a ASR mount on a URGI 11.5. I have a Velos but would like to go a bit shorter. I’m not bothered by a little gas so…everything I’ve researched led me to a K can either way. What say yall? Anyone with a 11.5 running either one or both? Thanks.

Not running either one, but I would think the polo k would be a little quieter but more gassy? And the velo would be a little louder and less gassy…

I’m still on the fence been looking at the polo k real hard… can’t beat the price…

Only thing I got to compare is running silenceco omega30 or hybrid on my 11.5” sbr Bcm and 11.5” sbr mcx

Not much stats out there for the polo k… and take these for what they are, I know the company’s really have a wide spectrum to work the numbers in there favor, there’s no standard to be held to…

Even been looking hard at the silencerco omega 36m… can run .308, 556,9mm and have the option to run “short” or almost a “k” configuration and weight of wanted to, or just convert it back to long if you wanted better hearing

since you already got a velos, i would go with a polo k.

i should mention i have the full size polo on an 11.5 inch. It has a lot of gas stacking, but the backpressure is not much different than my fat cat or vox s. i have a bleedoff block. i need to add a heavier buffer weight for hotter 223 loads.

Don't have specific experience with either setup, but I agree with Bigchillin. I would go with the Polonium K if you don't mind the gas. That's really its only weakness. Should be noticeably smaller and quieter, but yeah it will be gassy

And you can get 2 polo k’s for the price of one velos or omega36m lol

Thanks for the responses. Im thinking I’ll go with the Polo K. Price and sound reduction outweighs the gas for me. I only shoot when there is a 20MPH wind anyway. Lol finding a FDE in stock will be the hardest part.

If I were going for another flow through can, I would go Velos or Cat WB...I ended up going for a Hux can before I did enough research and while I'm still happy with it I've heard great things about the Cat and Velos.

I have a few 30 cal can and wanted a more compact 556 dedicated can for short guns. The YHM fatcat is a cool option. The tapered design gives it a deeper tone. It falls performace wise somewhere between a K and standard sized can. Rated down to 10" barrels full auto on 556. Here it is on my 11.5" gun.

I have the HuxWrx 556K that I’m running on a 16 inch and there is no gas, but there is a distinctive ping every time I shoot. I have a Dead Air Sierra 5 on a 16 inch and it’s a tad bit gassed, but it’s much quieter without the ping. I will be building a pistol soon with a 10.5 inch barrel to put the HuxWrx on and hopefully it works as advertised.

What body is on your modlight and why do you have tape around the head?
Reptilia Mlok 18650. It's a brick **** house. The head is a PLHv2 with the Modlite head cover (3d printed) shell and a plexi glass sacrificial lens. The tape if there to help with structural integrity and retain it because it's a little loose.

Does anyone have any links to weapon light covers? Or any advice on making them?
You talking about like clear lense covers? For carbon build up or like actual abuse protection?

I’d too keep them clean I use lense covers or chap stick on the lense… the lense covers peel off easy when needed, the chap stick will just make it easy to wipe off with a paper towel after a range trip but still keep the light function correctly

If your talking about protecting from abuse.. idk lol
