I practiced for about 10 minutes with different patters on an old AR buttsock and decided the "Pokey Method" was what I liked most. I took my time and made sure to outline each little area before do the mass pokage to that section. Overall I am really glad I did it. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but after the defensive handgun course this weekend and realizing just how slippery that little polymer baby can get, I decided stippling was necessary.

Here's some photos of the process, you can see in a couple how I would outline the area to be worked on then go to that area. The whole process took about an hour and a half, maybe a little more. I didn't do the grip panels because I didn't see that as necessary. I mainly targeted all the smooth areas that make contact with skin.

That's all there is too it. I still need to shoot her to see how leaving those grip panels bare works for me. I think it looks great and is functional. If you were considering doing this but were afraid of screwing up, don't be... I mean ****... I can do this... surely any of you can! (I take NO responsibility if you **** it up though :mamoru: ).

Like I said it took me about an hour and 45 minutes or so (not counting a 10 or 15 minute break). It was easy and sectioning pieces off and treating each little area individually helps also.

That's what everyone who sees it says, JBP. One of the reasons I held off on stippling the panels is because I have pretty soft hands.... also don't want it eating up my shirts!

Looks good, but I would get rid of them finger grooves while you at it, makes a HUGE diference in fact I just purchased a G19 this morning from Ed's and she will be dremeled when I get in, I will also make the mag cuts and round my trigger guard.

    Don't need a video.

5 minutes and a Dremel Tool and you are done. Cute the grooves off and then sculpt the grip to how you like it.

Cut em off....? With what? Hacksaw, diamond cutter, scissors, garden shears? Sculpt the grip? With what? Okay I get the Dremel tool part, but what fitting? A stone? A sander barrel, I'm guessing here.

The idea behind information sharing is so I don't have to experiment with what works best.

I use a sanding barrel to remove most of the material, then a cone shaped stone to finish/sculpt them.
