I practiced for about 10 minutes with different patters on an old AR buttsock and decided the "Pokey Method" was what I liked most. I took my time and made sure to outline each little area before do the mass pokage to that section. Overall I am really glad I did it. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but after the defensive handgun course this weekend and realizing just how slippery that little polymer baby can get, I decided stippling was necessary.
Here's some photos of the process, you can see in a couple how I would outline the area to be worked on then go to that area. The whole process took about an hour and a half, maybe a little more. I didn't do the grip panels because I didn't see that as necessary. I mainly targeted all the smooth areas that make contact with skin.
Mandatory before shot

That's all there is too it. I still need to shoot her to see how leaving those grip panels bare works for me. I think it looks great and is functional. If you were considering doing this but were afraid of screwing up, don't be... I mean ****... I can do this... surely any of you can! (I take NO responsibility if you **** it up though ).
Like I said it took me about an hour and 45 minutes or so (not counting a 10 or 15 minute break). It was easy and sectioning pieces off and treating each little area individually helps also.
