    My mom has a 2002 volvo s60. After she lets off her brakes its makes a nosie sounding like leaking air. Anyone know what that might be?

    Brake booster leak. If its in the air line you can probably replace the line. If its the booster itself, get ready to spend about $700 for a new one.

    The noise makers that alert to pads that will soon need replacement *CAN* sound like hissing air. If it is vacuum leak affiliated with the booster I think that it would make the sound all the time and that the brake peddle would be noticeably harder to use.
