Found these under some oak trees, they look like what is left of pine cones. Does anyone have an idea what animal is eating them?
    thanks

Squirrels very destructive bastards! If you walk under the trees where they are working on a pinecone, they will sometimes drop it on you, on purpose trying to hit you! Those hard green cones will hurt you!:awais:

The debris is the work of squirrels. Perched high in the tree, they are eating pine seeds from the pine cones and dropping the gnawed cones to the ground.

Yup squirrels, had a bunch trees in my front yard when I used to live in Hammond...that's what my yard looked like every year. They would have a feast!

DAMN SQUIRRELS!!! I had this problem, except these rats would sit in the branches and shred pine-cones and thrown the chips and cones into my swimming pool.

How did I fix the problem you ask?? I moved. haha
