Hand and post from an old ass revolver.
Lol, I don’t have a clue, can you tell?
Oh wait, I know.. This is the part that some guy is still griping about having lost in that spot.
Looks like it’s cast, maybe plated, with a steel spring. It might be old, but doesn’t appear to have been lost for very long.
I’ve got a couple of jars of yet to be identified pieces parts like that, found while metal detecting. Sometimes you find clues where you’re sweeping as to the era most of your finds came from. On one hand, it looks old and clockworkish, but that spring is in good shape so it makes me think it hasn’t been in the ground very long.
There’s a big cane field on the east side of the sunshine bridge where there was an old Spanish fort. I knew the era of stuff I should find, knowing the history of the place, so the old silver Spanish coins I popped up made sense. It was also farmland, so I found everything from tractor parts to hand tools. Still have a nice big Crescent wrench I cleaned up and blued, lol.
