Last I checked they had a S & W 15-22 at Precision for $449+ tax. You should see if they still have it. That is a very nice little shooter, especially for a woman. It is nice, lite, and functions really well.

As mentioned there are .22 cal conversion kits if you already own a .223/5.56 ar. Ciener, spikes and CMMG make conversion kits; spikes, CMMG, compass lake and a few others make complete upper receivers. I really like the latest generation of cmmg conversions which allow for full rifle function. For complete rifles, I have heard good things about the Smith and Wesson and bad things about the Colt. I have no personal experience with either.

I love my little colt m4. Me and 3 friends all bought em cuz we wanted the full M4 weight vs the S&W plastic. I have probably put 8 or 9 550 count federals through it now. I personaly prefer a dedicated 22 over any conversions I've delt with. Welcome to the forum!
