OK guys, what's your Must Have gun list? I'm not looking for necessarily specific brands and such, but what YOU think are your Must Have weapons. Like everybody needs 1 shotgun, .22lr rifle and 1 large caliber pistol for example. This is my list no particular order:
#1 12ga shotgun, pump prefered but at least 1 12ga
    #2 AR15 duhhh
#3 large caliber lever action rifle (mines .444)
#4 high powered rifle suitable for hunting large game.
#5 .22lr s/a rifle (the more the better)
#6 .22lr pistol (for plinking and teaching youngsters to shoot)
#7 1 or more CCW type pistols of your choice caliber

Of course I could add more to this list but that would be ones I Want, not need. If you feel like being specific on brand, model and caliber, then by all means post away.

That looks to be about right Bam Bam !
I might add a short single shot or bolt action 22 rifle. With subs or 22 shorts, you can dispatch varmints without alarming the neighbors if the need arises. Substitute with an air rifle such as a Gamo Whisper if you prefer.

I am down to just one more of each.
Big arse revolver like S&W 460 or 500
And one big rifle like 50BMG
But think my age and heath did that in.
So think my many years if Cabelas poi t's will score me a more reasonable gun like 686 comp. You know the one with the removeable weights under the barrel.
Could always shoot 38 full wad cutters loaded light as a feather
    Or a,Colt 1911 38 wad gun (dream)

My grandfather was in the trenches in WW1 and carried a 1911, 1903, and a bayonet. When he returned home to Lafourche parish, the only firearms he ever owned were a 410 single shot, a double barrel 10, and then 12 gauge, and a 22 bolt action. He never owned a pistol or centerfire rifle to my knowledge. I always wondered if that was on purpose, or just the realities and economics of the 20's, 30's, and 40's. I never got a chance to ask him as he passed away the year before I was born. From what I've been told, he harvested ducks, deer, and whatever else could provide food for his family for decades with those three firearms. I think a lot about surviving or existing with as few firearms as he did, and I struggle a little with the concept, lol. Of course, everything got done back then with as little as possible. I don't have a final list, but for living in Louisiana I think I'd have (or like) to have as a minimum, a 12ga pump, 357mag revolver, 22 rifle, and a modern sporting rifle. If I lived in another part of the country the list might be a little different. Fortunately I'm not restricted to just four firearms, lol.

Interesting question.."must have" and not "want to have" huh?
    Basic shotgun stuff
    12 ga pump
20 ga pump, auto, and O/U.. getting older dont like the pounding of a 12 as much anymore
    Hunting rifles
Longer distance stuff like 6.5 CM
    Closer in, 30/30s or similar
"battle" rifles.. AR/AK/in my case a SCAR & AK
    Handguns
    Scoped contender
22 mag for around the place
    Larger cal revolvers 38,357,44,500
CCW pistols , caliber of your choice
not a big 22 lr guy, sorry.

Interesting question. I query whether we are talking need for our collection or need for the SHTF or end of world scenario.
    My list;
An AR-10 in .308. Covers hunting large animals but in a SHTF/end of world, an AR-15 in .223/5.56 ammo will be easier to find.
    AR-15
.40 S&W semi-auto handgun but for STHF/end of the world a 9mm would be easier to find.
.38/.357 revolver. I have one that has a 9 mm cylinder giving one the flexibility of 2 calibers in one weapon
.22LR semi-auto of bolt action as long as it has the ability to contain 10 rounds or more (detachable mag or mag tube)
    .22LR revolver
    12ga pump shotgun
    .45ACP 1911 pistol
    10mm pistol and PCC
    .44 magnum
    My 2 cents worth.
