Good one. But I think it's too personal for a general statement. I'm sure everyone can agree that a "decent" one is at least a non-druggie....

Church? Not sure, but I do know my buddy wants a woman and goes to the club or bar everyweekend, with no luck. So maybe rule that out. Do you have a dog or kid? if so go to the park, women like that.

I'd have to agree with friends. They know your personality and your principles. I've found a lot of good relationships in people where originally friends, and then got to know and like much more later.

It probably also helps to look somewhere more populated, say, not northern Louisiana.

I have two friends that are married now to people they met through online dating services. Another friend married someone he met in an online forum. You never know, maybe you'll meet someone here (maybe gocoastal has a sister? )

I do go to church when I can but like gocoastal said. It isn't highly populated around here.

I don't have a dog or kid so that's not gonna work.

I looked on the dating sites but they're mostly fake profiles. The ones that are real want you to have the body of Adonis and the wallet of Gates.

Don't have many friends I hang around with. Everyone kinda moved off after graduation.

Or this place here, where I'm going tonight-- the black awareness rally-- there gonna be some fine women there. Good, good, clean girls.

Try the online thing. Two individuals I know found their future spouses on Eharmony.com and seriously it is freaking weird how well matched for each other they are....

It doesn't have to be friends you hang around with. 2 of 3 of my single guy friends were traveling and met their girlfriends and they've just been traveling to make it work. The other one met a girl who was a friend of a friend's brother visiting in NOLA, and they've been flying back and forth.

Thinking broadly is your best bet...all those friends who moved on, maybe they know people. Maybe you need to take a few road trips to catch up with them. This is harder than it sounds, but stop looking so hard, and just keep up contacts or make new ones. I really think just looking in your geographic area is pretty limiting because there are just so few single people out there.

You missed the ones with 3 or more kids, divorced or never married, but say they 'want to wait' AND you need to make $75K+, AND they expect NOT to work!

fiscally responsible (not looking for a hand with 80,000$ cc debt)
accepting of firearms.
no bedroom hangups (must be warm and willing for average activities)
not a druggie
not a heavy boozer
not a future cancer volunteer. (Non Smoker)
not fatter than me.
good hygene (razor and wax are not four letter words, despite what gloria steinem may say)
if she has kid(s) they should at least have the same daddy.

i could go on.

basically, if her story could keep a gossip session fired up at the local salon for more than a few minutes,.
