Regardless of what people say about them I keep my .40 with me. I had a S&W Sigma got rid of it to get a Gen 3 G23. I shoot better at longer distances with the Sigma, maybe because it is slightly bigger, IDK. But I am not trying to become a sniper with a pistol and I stand behind my reasoning with the Glock; I trust it. Works for me.

either a CZ75 SP-01 or a HK P30. Why: Well, because they both have excellent ergonomics and are well refined/engineered.

That's funny - He says that the gun that you will shoot the best is the one that can't keep the hits on the target in the picture that he posted.

That's funny right there, I don't care who you are.

    *I have heard*

That the SIG P210 is king of the heap regarding its combination of shootability and mechanical accuracy.

    Never even fondled one, though.

I'll take a genuine approach to this playful question, because it interests me that Joe cares about my opinion. :mamoru:

I would say, based on your proclivity for the 1911/2011, you should try an M&P. I think you'd do well with my Burwell-tweaked .45, as it's quite similar in several ways to a 1911. In fact, other than take up and a little bit of overtravel, the trigger break is about the same-- a glassy 4-ish pounds, with super short reset. (He has a more in-depth trigger job that apparently mimics a 1911 almost perfectly, but... not sure what his work list looks like these days.) And... It's lefty-friendly! But without an external safety, you could shoot it righty, too!

I would not however give you a Glock, as you'd probably just throw it into the street in disgust.

All silliness aside, I like the fact that Precision and a few other ranges around the state will let you come in and "test drive" different handguns.

Finger banging them at the fun show will give you an idea of what you like, but until you actually put a few rounds downrange you really don't know.

Now me personally, I'm quite fond of c/c'ing this little gem:
