One factor that has to be considered is that no president can do it all by himself. You have to look at the congress he has to work with. What did or didn't get done under either Obama or Trump was dependent on what type of congress they had to work with. The positive progress that Trump achieved with opposition from both sides of the aisle can't be ignored.

Compromise=loss of 2A rights. I may be missing something but what has been added to the 2A when the word compromise comes into play. This for that? Nothing only concession. The 2A has been under attack since the ink was drying. The 2A exists to protect us from the powers that be no matter what party they belong to. They see the 2A as a threat to their tree house of power and all sides will do everything possible to get rid of it. Some talk a good game but we've only seen a weakening of the 2A no matter what side has power and I don't think that can be argued. I am happy to see some still believe there is hope. I'm running out of years so my perspective doesn't afford me that luxury.

A non-political observation that I can only imagine how nervous the Secret Service team was escorting him into a room stuffed with firearms and ammunition, and you can see it if you observe them. When President Nixon visited CINCPAC where I was assigned in 1969 and came back into the Command Center, staff were advised that no one was allowed in the passageways while he was in the building. This is in an area protected by multiple tiers of armed Marine security personnel in the first place and where everyone had top secret+ security clearances, but they take no chances. And this was at a time when we felt more secure than these days. I have the greatest respect for the men and women that protect current and former presidents and their families.

    1. Trump appointed Pro-Gun Justices to the USSC and was the most Pro-Gun President since Ronald Reagan.
    2. DeSantis signed Constitutional Carry into law in Florida.
While Trump did some good things he was still terrible for the 2A. He doesn't think people should have Silencers or body armor. He directed the ATF to go after bumpstocks. I know about the Vegas shootings and the pressure to do something. The NRA told him no one cared about bumpstocks. Then he directed the ATF to go after pistol braces. Remember when SB Tactical, Q, and other companies getting cease and desist letters? Yeah that is on Trump. Then Form 1 Silencers and some triggers came under attack, yeah all of that was from the Trump White House.
PS Reagan was terrible for the 2nd Amendment as well, Gun Control Act of 86 and you can find quotes of him saying he doesn't think people should be allowed should own AK-47s/ AR-15s

No the President Can't do everything on his own but the President is the head of the executive branch and Trump sent plenty of directives to the ATF, to go after bumpstocks, pistol braces, Form1 Silencers, and more. He didn't think people should have Silencers or body armor.

Reagan weakened the ATF after he called them"that rouge agency." The Presidents after him restored ATF's funding and gave them more power. Trump was more pro-gun than both Bush Presidents, Clinton, Obama, and Biden.
