Is there any difference between the Winchester USA Q4170 and the USA WNUSA9MMVP other than one is in a 50 round box and the other is in a 100 round value pack?

I always thought it was just special packaging. Same as the .45 in the 100 rd value packs from wal-mart.

I have all i can do to keep up with my rifle reloading. It is just easier this way. Plus I always pick up the brass and I will get around to loading it someday.

I posed that question to Olin (Winchester) earlier in the year, and was told unequivocally that they are the same ........... same components and made at the same factory (Alton, Illinois .... IIRC)

Too busy to roll your own, Dan? I have found a DELIGHTFUL practice load: 115gr ball bullet over 4.2 of WST and a WSP primer. Talk about CLEAN-burning...

I've personally fired many thousands of rounds of the Winchester USA Q4170 in several of my 9mm handguns without a problem whatsoever. I purchase them in quantity in 500 round sealed boxes. I have shot several hundred of the other (both 9mm and .45) purchased at Wally World without incident although I do tend to avoid them now because members from other forums that I hang around have reported that they are inferior in quality (and not the same). I guess that in my case, I feel as though it's better to be safe than sorry.
