    Most people up my way have had the same or similar issues.
    I welcome any and all wisdom.
    Manimal pointed me in a new direction. Working on that tomorrow.
    The layers pellets probably have corn, and that's ok to keep, just no scratch with cracked corn and things like that. It seems to raise their body temperature. Corn is a better winter food. Sunflowers & oats are nice and balanced, what are considered cooling foods.

    30+ chickens and blessed to have a lease right behind my house.

    Any of you that have chickens , has this heat stopped they from laying……. Mine quit about a month ago. I need my fresh eggs back!
    They slowed down a lot!!! I’m only gettin about 8-10 a day and should be about 2 doz a day… but I do have 5 youngins that just started laying yesterday… I got 3 micro eggs lol

    That’s way better then my girls.
    Had 7 layers on time every day.
    Have 28 pullets I fell like should have started a couple weeks back.
    I’ll be dumping oats and sun seeds come tomorrow.
    By what’s the last months has been painful.

    I'm starting with Satsuma's and blueberries around the outside. We are going to plant around 20 acres of various things a little at a time and see what works best.
    If you plant native trees, or leave parts of that acreage wooded, you can get tax credits or paid by the Feds. I cant remember which but I think it's about $2000 an acre/yr.

    Tell me more too please. Mine is farm property that we are returning back to a more natural state for recreation, so I have a blank stale, literally.
