TANGIPAHOA, La. -- Deputies confiscated a slew of weapons and ammunition at a hotel Wednesday after a drug arrest in Tangipahoa Parish.

Deputies arrested 32-year-old Roberto Sanchez Jr., of Boynton Beach, and 24-year-old Michael Caruso, of Delray Beach, and charged them with possession of a controlled substance while in possession of firearms, said Dawn Panepinto, a spokeswoman for the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office.

What first alarmed deputies to the hotel room was the smell of burnt marijuana coming from Sanchez's room. When deputies approached the hotel room, Panepinto said, Sanchez consented to a search, and they found marijuana and a .50 caliber rifle and a pistol during their search.

Panepinto said the deputies then checked Caruso's hotel room, where they found even more weapons: five AR-15’s with tactical optics, five combat-style pistols and over 2,000 rounds of ammo.

Panepinto said, all together, the confiscated weapons and ammunition have a value of $60,000.

I'm gonna go out on a limb a suggest that the picture is not representative of what was confiscated.

    Can anyone identify the accessories?
I think the top three ARs have Magpul CTR stocks.

That can't be a picture of what was taken. Some very nice setups in there. At least 3 Novekse Uppers, 3 CTRs, 1 EMOD, 1 ACS, 1 VLTOR CASV. Aimpoints and Eotechs. 3 Tango Down grips, 2 MIADs.

If there are the actual items seized, they are more than likely stolen.

No way that is 60K worth of gear, unless they had a large quantity of Raufouss .50 ammo.

The rifles do look nice though. A POF as noted, Looks like a few acogs, an eotech, some surefire lights. If you look close at the top AR, I can see either the rear of a suppressor or KX3, sure looks like an SBR to me.

    Lets see"
    • Barrett .50 Auto @ $10,000
    • 5 pistols @ say $1,000 each = $5,000
    • 5 Ar-15 @ Say $3,000 each = $15,000
    • 1 .50 cal pistol = $3,000
    • 2,000 rds ammo = $1,000
That is only $34,000 so even if you round it up to $40,000 that is still $20,000 shy of $60,000.

So how do they get the $60,000 figure?

    Nice toys but not 60k,

what could be the charge for those guns to be seized if they are not reported stollen? I'm sure the dope charge is not enough unless they are convicted felons
