Couple years ago you stocked the Barnes 180gr for 35 Whelen. Do you still have it? If not do you have any ammunition for 36 Whelen.
They usually have the projectiles if you can load your own. When I got my 35 Academy stocked the Barnes regularly, now no luck! The Hornady 200's are pretty available and I hear good things about them if you get in a bind.
Just got finished helping a freind with his brand new TC Encore in 35 Whelen. All he could find for ammo was Hornady Superformance (200gr 2970fps). Would not group AT ALL at any distance. He gave up after a box and a half, and that's OUCH with that ammo trust me. Turned out his foregrip had loosened slightly from the recoil and switching to Fusion bullets had it shooting .5" groups. Best thing of course is handloads and find the right combination, but 35 Whelen is known as a picky caliber. Nice thing about that though is it sure is dirt easy to tell what you gun doesn't like. That Encore flat hates the Hornadys.
