I hate to do this, but I've just been told that my house renovation is going to cost 20K more than what we initially expected, so the guns have got to go. :wtc:

I built this up on an Essential Arms lower with an eye towards possibly using it as a 3-gun platform. Except for the upper receiver and handguards, everything is new. The barrel is a 16" Wilson HBar chrome-molly 1/9 twist with a carbine length gas system. Internals are Armalite with a DPMS BCG. It uses a standard buffer, commercial buffer tube and 6-pos stock. It is currently unfired, but unless someone speciffically tells me the want it that way, I will be running about 100 rounds through it to make sure everything works the way it should (because of some problems the last time, I'm not selling any more unfired ARs ;)). No trades; price is cash FTF.

Well, I got to the range and put 120 rounds of Wolf 62gr through the rifle today without a single problem, so I'm going to declare this one GTG. :D The dissipator setup makes it a little nose heavy, but the hooded front sight and long sight radius makes it super easy to get on target and stay that way. Recoil is surprisingly light for a 16" carbine, which is probably attributable to the extra mass of the heavy barrel. All in all, I'm pretty pleased with this build.

Dang, one of my customer's houses flooded a few weeks ago, and I am tearing out all the subfloor cabinets, trim, doors, etc, and replacing almost everything in the house for less than $20,000.

How Much does it weight? Looking for something for my son with very low recoil and weight.

With the heavy barrel and rifle length hand guards, it's not particularly light. It's not like ARs have a lot of recoil anyway, but the lighter the rifle the more recoil there is going to be. I have a "super light" AR that weights in at just under 5 pounds, and even with an Endine buffer and rubber butt pad it still has more recoil than any of my other ARs.

If you want to stay with the AR platform, then you best bet is a .22LR conversion. Depending on how carefully you pick your parts, it is perfectly possible to have a sub 5lb gun with almost no recoil.
