I don't load for the Garand (wish I had one), I do load ought 6.
This is data from the Sierra manual #5, page 546 and page 548.
150gr. match king 48.1 grs. of IMR 4895. Accuracy load 59.6 grs. H4831SC
155gr. match king Same data as above.
168gr. match king 47.0 grs of IMR 4895. Accuracy load 51.9 grs Win 760
The data given was tested in a Savage 116, with a 26" barrel, using Federal cases and Federal 210 primers which some say are too soft for gas guns.
You're probably better of sticking with 4895.
I have had GREAT results in the .308 and .30-06 in my bolt guns shooting the Sierra 168gr. Match King using Vihtavuori N-150. N-150 has a burn rate that is right between Win. 760 and IMR 4350.
You need to be very careful when loading for a garand. Do not use any powder slower than IMR4064. The various 4895s are THE powders for an M1 (the gas system was designed around H4895). Also, no bullets heavier than the 175 grains. If you use heavy bullets or slow powders, you will likely bend your operating rod.
Fortunately there is alot of reloading info for the M1. Look on the net. Just make sure you do not use info for a 30-06 bolt gun (most reloading manuals have seperate data for M1s and bolt guns).
I don't reload for the Garand yet. Dan will get a phone call right before I do. I have some IMR4895 set aside for it. IMR4895 does pretty well in .223 also.
