    Skyfein,

It was great to have you as a shooter. I hope you will return.

As to Honey Island, I have contacted them and am waiting for a reply. I will try to update this thread as more information becomes available.

It would be great if some of you could contact people at Honey Island and express your interest in having an event there.

    Thanks

I'd be happy to contact Honey Island with the suggestion.

I just went to the honeyisland.org website, clicked contact, and sent an e-mail to jdhunt3@honeyisland.org, which appears to be the only contact info listed.

Is that who I should be writing? Or should I write to someone at Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries? Let me know. I'll do whatever I can to support this idea.

I'm not exactly sure who to contact. I have emailed that address, but not yet gotten a response. You might also try John Sturgis. (jsturgis@wlf.louisiana.gov) He is the Education Manager for LA Wildlife and Fisheries.

You need to contact Jay Hunt (who is a member here) not the LDWF. The range at Honey Island is leased to SELFS, Inc. so they are the people to deal with.

Anybody been to one. Is it worth the time.
Time for most of us is a very valuable commodity. I tell you, block off two days and attend an Appleseed shoot. You will not regret it.

I found the history and the message of the program more valuable than the actual marksmanship portion of the weekend. All of the instructors I have learned from or work with have a passion about our American Heritage which motivated me to take up the cause and help the program. The true message of Appleseed is about waking up Americans and motivating them to become politically aware and active.
    This.
