I went to Bass Pro in Denham last week and talked to them bout their shooting range. I asked them if it was open to the public and it is to my surprise. So i asked how much it was and it is $10 and hr...i was surprised i thought it would be more. Precision is $15 i think but thats for the whole day...I usually only shoot for bout and hr anyway so im thinking bout going to bass pro one day...

Has anyone been there to shoot??? I think it might be weird with people watching you through the windows...

No rapid fire. No drawing from holster. By appointment only. No full metal jacket ammo. Front desk employee must inventory everything in your shooting bag, lock your weapon, and walk you up to the range. Then repeat on the way back.

A few too much BS for my taste.

What about human type Silhouette targets? Someone on another forum told me that a Bass Pro in Texas wouldn't let you shoot Silhouettes because some woman's kid freaked out and couldn't sleep after seeing people shoot them.

It's not mentioned in the rule sheet, but I've heard from other people you can walk up with your CCW holstered then remove it when you get into the lane. You are still required to have your bags inventoried on the way in and out.

This range is for people who shoot once a year, not weekly or monthly like many of us.

I went there to shoot, got the gun lock at the door, went upstairs and paid 10 bucks plus two targets. He unlocked my gun, and I shot. Wasn't too bad, but I haven't been to a range in years. Where I used to live I could load up 50 in the reloader, walk out the door and blast away.

    Sure was nice.

    I shoot at Bass Pro.
    Without appointment.
    With FMJ ammo.
    Without inventory.
    Without lock.
    Without escort to range.
    With CCW.
Enter and exit at the same door.

I was there yesterday, $10hr, $75yr for single person, $100yr for family.

No Steel core ammo, no rifles, nothing over .44magnum.

Rules were OK to me, never saw or heard anything about no rapid fire or no drawing from holsters or anything else really.

It's too far for me to drive but the price for a yearly membership is a bargain. I said "I can shoot for 5 hours if I want to?"...he said "As long as we're not busy, but most people cant afford the ammo for 5 hours of shooting so thats not really an issue."

    Awesome range, 25 yards long.

    I liked it.

Disappointed in the portions served at the restaurant though, small.

Don't make me start a Poll.
"Manimal" what would be cheaper? clothe him, feed him or buy his ammo.

I heard they had a good buffalo burger there.

I went last night to function test and sight in a new Ruger 4" GP100.

They did lock my gun but did not inventory my bag. The range is nice and the rules are ok but a little bit of a hassle. I was concealing a G26, but I wasn't there to shoot it so it wasn't an issue. BP is close to my house and I can see me using it to function test and sight in new guns from time to time.
    $75 for a year membership.

So what if you are CC do they just check your bag? Or do they look at you stupid and ask what are you going to shoot? :)

I was there about a month ago and they were teaching a CHP class to the PB workers, I watch them shoot. Some were shooting rapid.

I'v shot there a few times, they never checked my range bag once.
Talked to the super about what I wanted to do, draws, reloads, transitions [ 1 target at 21 ft. 1 at 50 ft.] el prez, normal uspsa practice.
I also showed him my range officers card, I'm sure this helped. I can pretty much do what I want now:cool:
