walked in, told them i was going to the range. they would not open my case. said i had to. they put a lock on it. walked upstairs... paid 70 dollars, iirc and i can shoot anytime, no appointments for a year. no other fees, not hourly or anything. that includes my entire family.

all the lights worked, all the target holders did too!

id like to add i took my .22 rifle to precision and they put me on a pistol range. i asked to go to rifle range to sight my scope in and was told that was fine, but if someone came in with a rifle i had to leave. wtf? a rifle is a rifle. i guess if you are in there with a .308 and i come in with a 30-378 weatherby, i can make you leave???

Went to Shurburne one day with a buddy of mine . We were on the rifle range and he was shooting a .22 mag bolt action . The " range officer " told my buddy that he would have to move over to the pistol/rimfire range so the deer hunters could use the 100 yd range for sighting in . He was furious ! I know for a fact that he called the guys supervisor and raised hell . Probably a coincidence but that guy isn't out there any more .

I shoot my .177 pellet gun from 50 yards out w/ a 2" group & easily take down squirrels with it. I wonder if they would look at me like I was crazy if I brought that to their rifle range. Heh-heh! :D

That is just silly. You should have told him that you WERE there sighting your deer rifle and that it wasn't your fault that all those other pussies had to use monster calibers to take down a deer. ;) J/K.

Remington 270 man myself. I do think that is BS. Everyone knows that in the right hands, a 22 rifle is a beast! I will bring TWO rifles if I ever go there to avoid confrontation...because I have a much better experience shooting when I don't have to deal with stupid. I like to plink & shooting 270 & 30-06 ammo can't get rather pricey after a few rounds, if ya know what I mean...

I've got the yearly membership at Bass Pro myself. So far I've been going once a week for just over a month now to get used to my P30L. I hand them my pistol to trigger lock out of courtesy, and I do not have to show my ID. No bag searches or any of the mentioned stuff. Big plus on it being clean, new and close to home.

I tell the person at the turnstile I am going to the range, sign in shoot and leave. No gun lock or bag/ammo inspection. I have not seen the L version of the P30.

No rapid fire. No drawing from holster. By appointment only. No full metal jacket ammo. Front desk employee must inventory everything in your shooting bag, lock your weapon, and walk you up to the range. Then repeat on the way back.

A few too much BS for my taste.

Walkin's are welcome, No appointment needed. They've never said a thing to me about rapid fire. They didn't inventory anything, but they do put a lock on your gun. No escort at all. Walk around all you want with guns in hand. Didn't try drawing from holster but I doubt they would say anything. And all I practice with is Full Metal Jacket.

BTW year membership is $75. Can't really beat that price.

Just got back about an hour ago. First visit and will go back. When I entered the door I told the greeter I was going to the range. He asked if I had a concealed permit and I said yes. Greeter said have a good time. No search of bag, no lock on pistol or an escort. Friendly staff, excellent condition. Marked at 3, 5, 7, 10 and 25 yards. Paid the $10 but most likely will buy a yearly membership.
BTW, had several lookers thru the glass while there.

I'm glad they seem to be more relaxed than the printed rules I was given suggest. Sorry, but when I saw that lonnng list of NOs I got the hell out and haven't been back since.

Next time I'm in the area I'll drop in and see what happens when I pull the suppressor out. :)
