    i don't have a CCL so i don't carry, but i was thinking about getting a Ruger LCP for when i do decide to get my CCL... I know everyone here like's glocks/1911's/sig's/and kimbers... but the LCP is affordable, small, and serves it's purpose...

    Since this was revived and brought to my attention, Springer Loaded 5" 1911 for EDC. S&W .38 or G17 for motorcycle carry. I trust the retention on those holsters more.

    Wow...since this thread was originally posted I've obtained my CHP and carry a Wilson Sentinel 1911 every day. I guess that's "other". The XD is still my home "bump in the night pistol" though.

    A good CCW class will suggest that you consider a number of additional attributes that are far more important.

    I'm not saying the LTC is a poor choice. I'm saying there are other criteria.......and if the LTC meets them, then it's a good choice.
