Not shooting related but lets see those cars you wish you had back. Here's one of mine. 1969 Mustang Mach I with 390 engine and 4 on floor. Had to sell it when first born arrived in 1972.
I used to have a 1988 ford ranger. Older than me and used more oil than gas. Oh how I miss the ac going out in the middle of summer and not having the money to repair it. Good ole days.
Truck was FAST for a 4 cylinder. I beat lots of Honda Civics and never was beat in the 1/4 mile by another small body 4 cylinder. All I had was a K&N air filter too. Just one of those types of truck I guess.
Anyway I join the Marine Corps, spent the most of my time oversea's and when I came home a couple years later my mom had let the weeds take it over. Somehow one of the windows got cracked and there was even grass growing out of the seat. Man I was some kind of upset when Ifound it like that.
Eitherway a few years later when I got out and moved back to Louisiana my father-n-law was getting rid of an 92 Toyota Standard 4 cly with only 62,000 miles on it. I gladly took it off his hands
Orange 1974 VW Super Beetle......It looked like a basket ball rolling down the street but it got 40 mpg and would outrun a friends 76 Camaro with a 350 under the hood.
91 Mustang 5.0 with the trunk, bought brand new for 15,900.00 stolen 8 months later. 93 Mustang 5.0 with the trunk bought brand new for 16,200.00 stolen 2 yrs later. State Farm hated me for a long time, did wonders for my credit though. Had to quit buying Mustangs just too many people wanted to steal them.
1991 jeep Comanche. 4.0 metric tonne package. would pull like hell even when I had 32x11.5x15's on the back. It was a 2wd and I put that truck through more stuff than should have been possible.
I have 2 vehicles that I really miss
1st is my old 1987 Nissan Hardbody pickup. The little truck only had a 4 cylinder, but I had it lifted 9" and was running 36" Super Swampers under it. By no means a super powerful truck, but that little thing did great offroading in 4-low, plus the red paintjob was great on it.
2nd would have to be my 1986 CJ7 that had a Chevy 350 in it. It was more of a toy than a daily driver but I sure had some fun in that thing.
Mazda Rx7 1984 GSL-SE with a swapped 13B-DEI turbo rotary
I still kick myself on the arzzzzzzzzzzzzz, perfect shape no rust and all electrical worked and AC worked, sold it for $2000 to put a down payment on a POS 2002 mustang GT, and the transmission on the GT went out about 6 months after I bought it.
Back in the early 80's , I had a 1978 Cutlass Supreme, mint condition with the stock Oldsmobile rally mags, thats when the white raised letter wide track tires where in style, everyone was trying to imitate the stock cars, yanked the stock Olds small block V8 out, dropped in Chevy 350 V8, Edlebrock, Holley 4barrel, headers, Turbo 400 Trans, damn, that little car flew, had good turbo mufflers on it, so it was quiet and a sleeper,
then after that got into the 5.0 Mustang Craze, but the Olds was faster and more of a muscle car, damn if that back seat could have talked, had it from junior year in highschool to sophomore year in college. I would love to have it back, sold it a guy stationed in New Orleans from the Coast Guard.
93 Mustang 5.0 notchback had a 347 stroker in it. Was way too much car for a 18 year old. Pops made me sell it for a 97 Lincoln Mark VIII which wasn't that much slower.
My old 5.0GT. Bought it used. Had a fresh Pearl White paint job (appeared to have been hit from behind) but ran great and didn't look bad. Looked alot like this but had better rims. Good Times.
'75 Duster. 440, 727, 9" w/4.11's hung on S/S springs, suspension "tweaks", Viper red, functional 6-pack hood scoop. Low 11's all day long. Sold it to fianance a race boat and that's another story.
Had a '74 with a 340X motor and a 4 speed. I'll try and find a pic of it.
I had a mildly modified 1996 Thunderbird from 1996 to 1999 because the insurance on a Mustang GT was way too expensive back then and I am a tightwad. In a way, I kind of miss that car, but I don't miss the transmission or rear end problems. Unfortunately, I can not find my photos of this vehicle.
I also miss my 2007 V6 6MT Accord that was totaled by a drunk driver. It wasn't the fastest thing I ever owned, but it was the most fun I had driving a 4 door car.
And thanks to a drunk driver:
I do have one thing to thank the drunk driver for though... Because of him, I NEVER get behind the wheel after having as little as ONE drink. Furthermore, I rarely drink as it is.
57 Chevy Belaire 2 dr hardtop with a 59 chevy 348 with trip deuces.
66 GtO
68 camaro SS396 with RS option
Now see what you've done, you've made me cry. Holy crap now I'm telling my age.
