John Rosemond (child psychologist columnist) sums it all up very wisely.

    Not so fast.
We already have different properties where firearms are prohibited, that are not necessarily prohibited due to law. If a kid brings his gun to school, have him escorted off the property and disciplined however deemed necessary.

Got another example of why it'd be silly to follow the Constitution?
You're assuming nothing bad happened with that gun .
    Did I say that ?
Well, if I got the wrong impression of what your feelings might be, concerning a kid using a firearm at school, I apologize.

Half of society's problem is that very stupid and evil people are being coddled by government and laws that protect criminals and morons from themselves & being dealt with by the rest of society. We lock them in cages for years, never let real justice play out, and protect them from dying of stupidity like they probably need to.

This law, which simply restores the ability of citizens to exercise a right without harassment from/by Government, is a step in the right direction.

The Politicians say "This Bill gives people the right", which shows a fundamental lack of understanding the Constitution itself, but the end result is still a positive.

Teacher hit me on the hand with a ruler.
Met her at the door, with a loaded .44
And she ain't my Teacher any more!
I remember this from grade school.....hahahha

If a kid would sing that now the cops would be called, kid arrested and expelled. Parents would be charged with some ******** too and the child removed from the home...

I hope that changes in the future.

Hopefully the permit will become valid for a longer period of time and will be easier for renewal and let's go cheaper while we're at it.

How about as easy as renewing your Driver's License, at about the same cost, and you can carry anywhere except the obviously prohibited places, court, federal buildings, airports, airliners, etc....?
What really needs happen, is those with a permit can conceal carry on parade routes. Already, you can go in a restaurant that sells alcohol unless you got a LA permit,
You can’t be within 1000 feet of a school,
Unless you have a LA permit. This needs to happen in parades. Also, it needs to be legal for Veteran Gun owners and conceal permit holders to get medical marijuana without prison time.

There was a time when no law prohibiting a child from carrying a firearm to school was necessary, and didn't exist.
People had something called, 'Common Sense'. It's rare today, but still exists in remote corners of the country.

As a Ute, Officer Friendly would visit our kindergarten class and teach us gun safety.
In Elementary school we could take a class to learn to shoot single shot .22 rifles.

I got my first Daisy BB gun when I was 7. I got my first shotgun and .22 rifle when I was 9.

I used to ride my Western Flyer to the woods with that rifle over my handlebars, in Algiers, New Orleans when I was less than 10 years old. Killed many a rabbit in those woods.

I refinished all of the stocks on my gun at Karr Junior High School in shop class. Yes, I brought guns to school and nobody got bent out of shape.

Alas, These days we kowtow to the least abled in our society , and that costs us precious freedom. In exchange, we get the illusion of security.
