    Why are they there.

    There have been two St. Landry deputies, one on the eastbound and one on the westbound lanes, they are always in the same places. I have never seen them giving tickets or even moving. This has been the same deal most every day for better than a year. People don't even slow down when passing them anymore.

    Anybody know what the deal is?

    There is construction (pipeline I think) going on beyond the railroad tracks and they are there for traffic control.

    It's an extra duty gig.
