What do you guys know about the Detonics mini 1911? I'm thinking about buying one and have read a few reviews but I wanted to hear it from a shooter. Any input would be appreciated.
One of the best wihout going fully custom built, they were built back when companies cared about making a costumer happy and satisfied, the first ones to be mass produced that had a barrel ramped and throated for hollow points.
A++ in my book, high quality, very little failure rate
I am just concerned about replacement parts; springs, extractor, firing pin, etc. I plan on using it as a ccw. I was looking for a Kimber RCP but I can't find one and if I did it would be around a grand. I now carry a Ultra Carry and like it but I would like to go a little smaller. I also have a coule of glock compacts and a SA XDm 40sc. I would prefer the 45 ACP though
Have Mike Moore with Tac Drivers in Arnaudville go through it for you just to ensure everything is where it needs to be, tell him Pablo Estrada sent you and he will take good care of you, he is an outstanding Gunsmith with 25+ years of 1911 experience under his belt.
Thanks, I use Mike Brazda, also in A'ville. He has done a few tweaks for me on my Sig Target 1911 and my STI. I appreciate the feedback. I'm meeting the guy halfway in BR in the A.M. I can't wait to shoot it. I guess I'll put a couple of Kimbers and my SA Compact V10 on the market soon. I've been trying to find a good fit for me. The V10 is all stainless with the port on the barrel, it's a HOOT to shoot at night.
It's a Mark V. Not sure of it's D.O.B. but the guy said it had a few years on it and he hated getting rid of it, just too many guns...not sure what that means. I haven't grasped that concept yet...LOL
