I was gonna make it but I decided to work on my AR instead. I've ordered some parts that should help me be ready for next season. I swapped out my 20 inch barrel for a 24 inch bull. Then I need to work up so loads for this barrel, that and the new trigger I installed awhile back should help me. Wish I could have made it though.

What a perfect day to be at the range. 14 shooters showed to face the challenging winds this morning at Palo Alto, a few of which being new shooters. They picked up quick and looked like seasoned veterans by the end of the match working those targets.

In the "no rear bag" class, Jay Meynier took 1st place scoring a 572-15X shooting a sling. Great shooting Jay! Joe Arabie came in 2nd with a 527-6X.

In the "rear bag" class, Ritten Precision Rifles dominated the line with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes. Ted Torres, with a High Master score, takes 1st place shooting a 588-20X. Mickey Brinkman comes in for a 2nd place finish shooting a 582-17X.

Four of our shooters today showed to shoot the match as a practice match with F Open rifles and single loading for F T/R. Glad you all got to make it out to shoot with us.

Thanks to everyone for a safe match, and hope to see you all at the FPR match next month on November 10th.

    Hey Brian!!!!
    You gotta come visit soon!
As long as the participation is up, we are not going to shut them down for hunting season.
Plan is now to keep them going year round.

i may be a spectator to this!

one question, why keep it to X25?

Also, just to drive home this point, I was shooting yesterday with a 3-15x scope. Unless you have VERY high end glass those high magnifications aren't going to help as much as learning to read wind. Not that I'm a great wind reader or anything, but I hear it helps.

Yeah, 25 power scope is plenty for 600 yards if it has descent glass. When mirage is bad i dial my 42 power scope down to about 16 power and it works fine.
