I used a blue frame one that shoots paint markers in the academy. Way too fun, but ammo must be expesive since they limited us to about 20 rounds for each of us in the room clearing drills. I'll bet 9mm is cheaper.

I think he means the "real" red Glock training gun. Very hard to find, as they sold to departments only, iirc. I would love to have one as well.

Dang, I forgot to ask him about that one... Paul didn't pull his red gun out during the class (that I saw). I was actually talking about a plastic one... to practice draw-stroke, etc.

Hey, man, if you're after one of the plastic dummy guns like we used, those were from Blackhawk. For the money, if they offer the model that you're looking for, they are the way to go. However, they only offer Glock 17, Sig P226R, M1911R, Beretta 92F and S&W 442s.

For other models, Rings is the way to go.

If you need a Glock 17 dummy gun, let me know. I've got a few that I can part with.

As a holster maker, let me tell you that the Ring's Blue gun is the only simulator that is the correct size for holster work. John Ring makes the best simulators out there. I use them for forms for making my holsters, and they fit perfectly. Go to Blueguns.com and look at the catalog. You can call him and he'll sell to you, direct. Lots of the guys, who sell his products, don't stock them and the wait is sometimes very long. Call and talk to John, personally and tell him Jeff at RM Holsters sent you. Bet he'll fix you up...
