The insert in the middle is the conventional sized grip with the others being a smaller and larger grip than the standard Glock grip. I didn't get the pleasure but our agency did get a chance to T&E one a couple of weeks ago and I am told the smaller grip proved to make a significant improvemt with small framed female shooters and the .40. I guess we will know pretty soon as we will be one of the first agencies getting these and it will be the new Duty gun for the office.

Looking at this picture I would be glad if they stay with the conventional vertical slide serrations on the 4th Gen. I am not into the curved style on the other RTF pistols.

check out the new glock 21 sf rtf 45acp but with the rtf grip and regular slide just picked one up christmas eve so far i love it

No need. Glock used the regular vertical slide serrations. The RTF 3rd gen versions are the only one with the weird serrations.

I could've sworn it looks like the ones I've seen where the finish is filed off...

In other news, I would pay money for a Glock coozie. Oh the irony.

Yep, same Tennifer finish. On the slide, I'm pretty sure the photo is accurate with the racking slots being straight. Their .40 G22 RTF had angled racking slots.

I've surly been wrong before, but the G22 RTF that I'd seen at an Armorers course had these features.

There is certainly nothing wrong with buying a used Glock IMHO. A normal shooter could never wear out a Glock pistol in their lifetime...

Looks the same as the current ones to me. The interchangeable backstrap concept is pretty standard on polyguns these days--was it Walther who started that with the P99 or was it somebody else?

As for the grip angle, hell that's why I shoot Glocks. They fit me better than anything else I've ever shot. No "fix" required there.

I certainly don't need any more Glocks but, if I were in the market, the new style wouldn't stop me from buying another one.

I left Glock for the reason of having a small hand, I think they have not done enough trimming with the new backstrap to accomodate the smaller had shooters, looks like they simply added backstraps to go larger, I may be wrong, but a more narrower rounder grip all together with 3 interchangeable backstraps would have been better, looks like the same to me,

Just my 2 cents, but I believe this moves Glock closer to a "one size fits all" package. From the looks of it, the interchangable backstrap is a better design than the M&P- which I hate (the plastic pin-keeper on my two M&Ps wore out quickly).

The bottom line is this: Glock Lovers will still love them. The hardcore Glock Haters will still hate 'em- maybe more, since now they have new features to gripe about.

At any rate, I see no reason to believe Glock won't continue to dominate the handgun market. The simple truth is they work, and work well.

I don't get what's supposedly wrong with the Glock grip. I've never had an issue with it. I'm an HK guy but I have my fair share of Glocks. I see nothing but improvement here. To each his own I guess.

It's just personal preference. I prefer (read, easier to shoot accurately and/or naturally) the 1911 grip angle over that of the Glock, even though it is perfection. ;) The Glock is not quite as exaggerated as the Ruger 22 semi-auto pistols but it's closer to that than to the 1911 angle.

But not very safe the way the trigger fit in the box. Some say they have put them in the box loaded and had a ND. I have never seen this happen though.

I know of two incidences of that happening.

Mental arthritis is alive and well...

Those boxes were designed that way to be stackable, with a cable run through the hole to secure the stack of boxes. Also, the NFML magazines were designed that way on purpose; the Austrian army apparently only issued/issues one magazine per pistol, and they didn't want the thing falling out to be lost.

The drop-free metal lined mags were a product of US shooters screaming "Foul!"...

    .

Here ya go. Just as it was first sold, back in February 1988 - 1st Gen. I bought in from the orig owner in 1990.

    1st Gen GLOCK 17 s/n: CT915xx
With this box, you HAVE to depress the trigger for it to fit in there.

The Gen.4 Glock has changes to the slide, receiver, recoil spring assembly, trigger housing assembly and pin, magazine body and feed lips, and magazine catch to name a few that are obvious from pictures found on line.

well the 21 sf rtf is a third gen gun. from what i was told it was made for arkansas highway patrol glock had an over run of the frames and put them on regular glock 21 slide on it and made them available to the blue label program only

I've noticed some variations within the variations. I've got gen 3 glocks with dissimilar features. My 17 has front strap stippling that has each bump in the stippling resembling a pyrimid with the top chopped off, my 34 has just pyrimids, and feels much more abrasive to the touch. I can post pictures if anyone needs clarification.

Manhandled it...didn't like it. Hate that new rough texture. Everything else about was the same except for the interchageable backstraps. I'm happy with my 3rd gen G17 the way it is. Grip angle never bothered me either.

A third gen 19 with the finger grooves ground off, steel sights, and a stippled frame is hard to improve upon.

I have no issue with the Glock grip angle whatsoever. The 19 fits my hand like a glove.

That is what I did to my 3rd Gen (ground off the 1st finger grove) until I found me a 2nd Gen G-19.

I know the 21 sf rtf has the less aggressive RTF. I held one last week. It was a blue label gun. Evidently they were an over run from the highway patrol you mentioned. I'm not sure if any where non-blue label.

I have now also seen in person a 22 Gen 4. I can also confirm it has regular slide serrations.
