Why Dave the gun dident go off and if you follow the basic rules of safety it never will.(Keep finger out of trigger).Plus I belive all semi autos will do the same thing when droped on there backstraps.
Not a 1911, if the safety is engaged!
But why would the safety be engaged on the pistol with a empty chamber:dunno:
Anyway, Glocks are unsafe plastic guns, nuf said:rofl:

OMG! I'll be sure to remember to hold on more tightly next time I'm pretending to shoot birds with an unloaded Glock. :eek3:

Seriously...they are both parlor tricks. When the hell would you be holding a Glock above your head with the muzzle up, a loaded mag and an empty chamber?

So let me see if I have this right, I want to demonstrate a potentially unsafe characteristic of a gun. So the way I do it (first drop in the first video) is to drop the gun in such a way that it chambers a round while the muzzle is pointed at my face.

Wait, you mean it's unusual to do that?

Remember guys, the the Glock did not fail. The safety is in working order. The gun did not go "bang". Its laws of physics (if that is what you want to call it) and it could happen to any semi-auto if the all conditions are right. Most semi autos are shipped with moderate/medium to low/light springs to accommodate a variety of loads. Many times the springs are light for full power duty rounds and some can get away with replacing with a heaver spring. Anyway by know mean is this a knock against Glock, just an educational vid to keep us all knowledgeable that safety is paramount and must treat every firearm as if it is loaded.

The original thread started about a guy putting away his Glock in his safe (loaded mag with chamber empty). As he was putting the Glock into his safe he dropped it and when he went to place it inside the safe he pressed the trigger (thinking the chamber was empty). In turn he the gun went off and he shot his safe. After review, he realized the Glock chambered a round when dropped (not Glocks fault but operator error).
Several people did not believe this could happen so they attempted to duplicate this action. Well guess what, its easy to duplicate and it could happen.
