Help me spend some gift cards on a semi auto 22lr

I have $125 in gift cards to Academy and wanted to get a 22. The have a few under $200, im getting it to just have fun plinking. I will keep it stock so aftermarket does not matter. Which would you recommend?

Cant go wrong with the ruger 10/22 and accessories are easy to find if you ever wanted to change it up

I have heard that stock the 10/22s aren't the most accurate. Any truth to that?

I had a savage 64fxp that I bought from academy for $130. Was an excellent rifle, and very accurate. Came with a cheap little tasco scope that I changed out for something better. Not a lot of aftermarket accessories for it though

Do some homework...seems to be a proven workhorse made just for horse play:}

I find that ammo creates the only accuracy issues with my 10/22. It will eat anything you put in it, but for some reason Remington Golden makes mine a little squirrely on paper. Have not had any issues with any other ammo

I have roughly $600 in academy gift cards. I recommend you buy mine to add to yours and get a mp 15-22 and some ammo. Lol

I know little about them except the Marlin. I have a Glenfield, that I hadn't shot in 30 years. Took it out last Feb, it worked fine. I guess I'd call it reliable.

Two choices Ruger 10/22 or Marlin 60. Can't go wrong either way.

Im leaning more toward the Malin 795 but since the have no 22lr rifles in stock guess I have time to decide [

I have a 10/22 but have never been overly impressed. A trigger job helped but...

Now I have an AR-7 that I really like. It comes with me in the truck much more often than my 10/22, just because its so convenient. Mine has been reliable so far and while not a tack driver, its accurate enough for tin cans (I haven't been squirrel hunting in a while...). Lets face it, a semi-accurate .22 with you beats a super accurate .22 at home.

I have a 795, nice light and accurate. I put a walnut stock on it and tech sights. I also have a heavy barrel savage 64, most accurate rimfire I have ever shot.

I sold my 10/22s and kept the Marlin M60. I love reloading the tube mag, and I can ding 8" steel at 200 yards with it reliably. It's not the /greatest/ for squirrel hunting because the sights at the lowest are on at 100yards, and the rear at the highest puts me on steel at 200... very weird. Maybe with a heavier bullet that drops more it'd be better... /shrug.

It's a fantastic gun though. I got a Marlin Model 60W from a gun show, a '91 made, and it's superb. Just got done refinishing the stock for fun, and cleaned the action all up. It's a beaut.

I've shot all three and the Henry is the only one that will cycle the Colibri rounds.

I'd have to say off the shelf the Marlin also. I think it takes the edge on accuracy over the 10/22 beyond 65 yards. Now if you want to add future goodies, the 10/22 take the Marlin.

Think of stock 10/22 as a starting point, the aftermarket upgrade options for it exceeds all other .22's combined, perhaps all other rifles combined.
