    I have no numbers or statistics but most of the negligent discharge stories I hear usually involve one of the pre-cocked striker fired pistols (Glock, XD, etc.)

    I prefer a hammer that I can see and cock/decock.....of course, I also prefer manual transmissions in my automobiles also. Guess I'm just too much of a control freak.


    The XD has a cocking indicator, and a loaded-chamber indicator that you can both see and feel (if you're in the dark). trigger disipline and a mind set on safety really help.

    on glocks, at least 3rd gen, the extractor sticks out a bit when the chamber is loaded, you can see it and feel it. The only thing I'd change is a small tac rail on the g26, then i'd invent a serpa holster that somehow works with lights attached, and not just blackhawks ugly crooked light.
