Below are some web sites that have information about high power shooting. The forums are interesting because they give you a chance to ask questions and receive responses from shooters all around the country. Lurking and reading other people’s discussions can yield valuable information for those too shy to ask themselves. The forums are also very useful for finding used high power gear. As an example, last year, David Tubb posted that he had 2 Creedmoor leather shooting jackets size 42 for sale for $100 each. These are very top of the line jackets that cost @$450 new. Needless to say, they both sold quickly, but this is an example of deals that can be had on used gear. Also, posting that you are a new shooter (especially a junior) looking for gear frequently gets people digging through their closets. You may be surprised at the offers that result. Most high power shooters bend over backwards to help new shooters who show interest and a modicum of commitment. Finally, I have included the web sites of 3 of the more popular suppliers of high power gear. I do not suggest that you rush out and buy anything until you get some experience and talk to other shooters at a match or two, but at least you will know what is out there.
