The only glitch I have noticed thus far with iOS 8 is that my text message screen gets stuck in landscape and won't rotate back no matter which direction I flip the phone. Closing the app and reopening it fixes it.

reset fixed my contacts... I'm pretty pissed about my ****ing music. Had to listen to 4 songs on repeat in the gym... that dog won't hunt. They need to patch this ASAP.

You know I just got finish looking through the Settings and Applications sections
of my wife's S4 mini. From what I can tell, and contrary to popular belief even expressed in this thread,
as far as APPS are concerned, iOS allows for much more control on how apps operate
and what they are or are not allowed to do.

Guess you'd just have to have two side by side like I do now to compare.

    Anyway.....

Slow Mo Video of my dog on my new phone :D

What's the veridct on battery life with the 6?

    It's hard to tell.

I'm on it on/off throughout the day. But I only turn on data when I need it.
When I get home it's on wifi and I'm on it a lot too. At night I seem to have anywhere from 18% to 35% left.

Don't bother looking online. If you Google Iphone 6 Battery Life
you'll get every other article claiming something else. It (is) that sporadic.

One article says the 6 doesn't even compare, the other article has it tied.
Then one article will say the 6 Plus is under the competition, another saying it far exceeds.

No IDEA how they do these test are just how they all come up with something DIFFERENT :dunno:

From mere personal use over the weekend and half way through the work week,
by the time I get home it's around 40% left on the battery almost every night.

    Which is plenty good imo.....

I think this number crunch on phone battery is pointless.
Everyday you will likely use the phone differently. Who cares if it's 7 hours of talk time?
Who the frack talks that much on a phone?
...and if you do, you need a LONG BATTERY specific phone I guess.

But understanding that everyone uses a phone differently,
Battery Life has to be almost incalculable.

I see no problems with the battery life.

I haven't charged mine since yesterday morning. Im currently on 38%. I do not use it all that often though.
two or three 5 minute phone calls a day
    Check emails once an hour
Minimal internet usage about 1 hour a day total
2.5 hours bluetooth audio streaming per day
    random text messages
Bluetooth, data, and wifi on all day.

My HTC one would have been dead in 8 hours just leaving bluetooth on and not using the phone. So I am very happy

    here
    I did find this interesting;

    Read the comment section to understand more;
    http://www.macrumors.com/2014/09/22/iphone-6-benchmarks/

Samsung S5 Frame rate is almost 40% slower than the iPhone 6.

The 6+ pushing a ton more pixels is competing competitively
with smaller screened phones. Sort of a per capita type understanding.

    You'll see in the link.
Only way to know for sure is for you to buy me a 6+ so I can do some comparisons.

Today was a little different. I ran a Hotspot 4 times for my Kindle on top of my daily use.

    Sitting at 16%.

I'll now use the phone as a Roku remote for the rest of the evening while checking updates when they come through and by about 2200 tonight I'll be around 8%.

Plenty of battery power for my needs. :dunno:

If you're like me the phone case has to be as minute as possible.
I'm a responsible phone owner so I don't need Fort Knoxx wrapped around my phone.

This is the thinnest case on the market I believe.
With and without the Spigen Slim Hard Case.

The Iphone needs a power save mode like the S5. I like the idea of that. I'm still on the fence on what I'm going to get but I can't upgrade till January.

I was reading about the new blackberry passport. It's different but I'm kinda liking the sound of it. However it's a risk seeing how Blackberry could go out of business at any moment.

I like the idea of that.

They do, it's called Grayscale and reducing the Screen Brightness.
Which is what the Ultra Power Save Mode does just without the fancy name.
That's the two biggest factors in battery usage.

    iOS8/ General>Accessibility>Grayscale

You can also set Grayscale as a quick access option (x3 Home Button)
So if you see you're at 5% and need to quickly go into Grayscale Mode
you just hit the home button 3 times and viola.

You can also Invert the Grayscale turning the background Black and saving even more battery.
You can't take screen shot of it though so I'll have to take a pic of it.

    Standby....

The Blackberry Torch was very nice at the time.
