Technically not in my pocket, but it's what I carry while outside in the yard.

Just wanted to share my latest find in the utility/game processing category.
I've enjoyed a few of Columbia River's (CRKT) folders over the years, but this is the first fixed blade I've bought from them

This one truly impressed me. More than $40 worth impressed. The 3.5" blade is acid etched and as soon as I picked it up it felt like all business. Not a fighting/defense blade in my opinion, but all business. Full tang and cord wrapped handle so tight nothing moves. Its heavy for the size, not a lightweight blade. And the edge, holy **** this thing is sharp. Filet knife sharp, all the way out to the tip. I would process a kill with this knife, mammal, fish or fowl. I could prolly shave my face if the blade weren't curved, but I ran it on the leather strap a few licks anyway. Gosh damn it's sharp. The scene from Kill Bill immediately came to mind, where Black Mamba is presented with her new Japanese steel and the sword maker says, in a word, that it would cut God.

7" overall. Thicker than a quarter at the back. And it's found a spot in my B.O.B.

I've been carrying this one for the past month, and it's probably my fav zt to date. Very nice size and doesn't make people freak out.

Know of anything with a blade like this? One of the blades on my 8OT is similar, and I've been using it a lot, but it would be better to have a locking or fixed blade. Looking for something that holds an edge better and hopefully a little prettier.

I've never seen a locking folder with a blade like that. There are warncliffs out there but never seen one with that steep of a drop to the point.

Maybe a folding electricians knife might be the closest thing. I think they have some in liner lock variant.

The only thing that I know of, with that blade shape, is a Reese Weiland Slash. If someone is lucky, they can get one for $500ish.

Michael Morris does a sweet friction folder with a blade like that. I don't see a need for a fixed or locking blade with this blade shape. You shouldn't be pushing it in any direction that would cause it to close.

That thing is sweet! According to the site, they run $120-150, which isn't bad.
