Not to bitch, but have you ever tried having a meeting at some other resurant than Shoney's?? Uck!

We've had several informal meetups whoch were separate from our monthly business meeting. Those meetups were held at other locations.
One of the issues we run into for meetings is having a gun friendly location where we can meet. It's illegal to carry into a resturant which sells alcohol for on site consumption. That eliminates lots of places.
We want a place where we can "spread out". The Shoneys meeting room gives us a place where we can close off the area and work our way through the agenda without disturbing other diners.
Also, When I say spread out, I mean we may only have 10 people at the meeting but then we each have copies of the agenda, minutes, bylaws and other papers. We are folding or signing papers. If we are eating (not everyone eats) we finish and move our plates to an empty table so we can write and read without getting food all over stuff.
Tonight we were amending a section of our Bylaws. We also were working on letters to media. That project included our President signing letters we printed out, the letters were then matched with the addressed envelopes, then we had someone folding the letters and putting them in the envelopes and someone placing one of our informational pamphlets in each envelope. Then we had someone putting stamps on each envelope. So we had several people all working on the tables where we were meeting. We couldn't do all of this just sitting anywhere. The staff at this Shoneys has been very receptive and welcoming of our meetings.
If we found a centrally located place to hold our meetings which was as accomodating then I'm sure we would entertain a motion to move our meetings. Until then, Shoneys is it.
As always, you are more than welcome to come out and join us for a meeting. We would love to have anyone from Bayou Shooter drop by and see what we are up to.
