    Some years back a woman reported her husband missing, stating that he was terminally ill, had mentioned numerous times that he wanted a Viking funeral, and his boat was gone. Nothing much could be done following that one up, don't know if there was ever any determination of what happened.

    I actually witnessed a viking funeral(well sort of)! Many, many years ago at the boat launch at Point La Hatch. A guy was trying to pick up his boat after waiting for several others before him, had previouly shut down his engine, and when it was his turn, forgot to blow the engine compartment of fumes. BOOM! I watched as his boat, his rods, and his snapper burn to the water line.
