Just shooting it. I BELIEVE (being the magic word here) that breaking in a match barrel for anything besides bench rest is completely useless, unnecessary, and can hurt your barrel much easier than help it. It will get a good cleaning tonight, but the only time I'll clean it is when I start to see accuracy degrade. From my experience and what others are getting with the Mike Rock barrels (my .30-06 is a Rock) they go 400-500 rounds before they need to be cleaned.

    Ritten,

You are right on the money with the break-in. I would however clean it a bit more often. I typically clean my match barrels after each match (88 rounds) for the first 3 or 4 matches. Then about every 200 or so rounds. That thing looks like it shoots pretty well. You need to get the brake off (probably need to re-sight it) and get over to Palo Alto for the F Class match.

Nice! Wish I could have made it to the range yesterday to see it in action but the lack of AT&T cellphone service yesterday made my afternoon pretty crazy. I think I'm headed to the TPSO today to go shoot 50~ rounds before I go help my buddy do some work at his place :hs:

What loads have you found that it likes best? Please give all info, thanks.

My most accurate competition load is:

    Once fired Lapua brass
    CCI - BR-2 primers
    44.2gr. RE-15
175gr. SMK's loaded to .01 off of lands
Speed is about 2750fps at 15' from muzzle.

It's actually a pretty typical load with just a little more "uumpfff". One thing you'll find with the Crusader is that it should shoot everything really well. You'll need to find exactly what your particular rifle likes to shrink groups down to under .5moa.
