Need date of manfacture for Iver Johnson shotgun

Shot gun is an Iver Johnson Champion .410 "crack barrel " single shot. Serial number is 728xx.

I tried the places that I know of to get a serial number but no luck. Have you done a search for a Iver Johnson forum? I'm not being a smart ass. In my experience there's a firearm specific forum for every manufacturer. Heck I bet even High Point has a fan boy forum. If you can find such an animal they might be able to help you.

I found this for serial numbers with letters, they did that in the 40's and 50's. I would guess your was after that being 5 digits.
