New to modern rifles AR style

Will magpul AR style rifle magazines fit any brand of rifle? A 5.56 magazine size will fit an M&P15 5.56 and also load up .223? Not a new shooter, just new to rifles.

Yes, Magpul mags will fit any standard forged lower AR (which the S&W is). And yes, an AR chambered in 5.56 can shoot .223 as well.

Thanks Brother. I appreciate any feedback from a veteran of Bayou Shooter. I am going to buy something but I need to know if I can buy mags online. I think you answered my question. It's like the .38/.357 but in rifles and I have always been a handgun guy. magpul has a 40 round for $18 and looks like that would be fun to take to the country.
