Greetings all, moved down here from Connecticut in late 2014 after talking about it for almost 10 years. I've been visiting at least once a year since October of 2006, and love a lot of the cultural differences, just not the heat....
One of the incongruities of life here that struck me as interesting and led me here is that gun stores in this state have less an interest in selling used firearms, whereas pawn shops seem to have more of a stake in that. Up in my home state, a lot of pawn shops won't touch guns so we have stores full of classic rifles and handguns. In speaking to a number of clerks at gun stores ehre, this site came up a few times so here I am.
Most of the household collection right now is older military rifles such as the Mosin Nagant and an Argentine Mauser, newer home defense pieces like the Hi-Point 995 and a Benelli Supernova Tactical, or pistols. I'm looking into stretching out to hunting, so this seems like the perfect place to meet people and gather information. I look forward to talking with folks and learning as much as I can.
