The scar 16 sucks I hated mine, barrel was out of index right out the box, it’s heavy with a sharp recoil impulse, the older ones don’t even have a non reciprocating CH, which coupled with the short rail ( sure you can get longer ones for $300) will mail your thumb if your not careful. get a Bren 2, galil ace gen 2. older sig 550 series rifle.

Ruger American ranch rifle in 5.56. It’s a bolt action that feeds from AR mags. I have one and it shoots really well for an inexpensive rifle.
